How To: Service Catalog & Client Upsells
Show past clients a catalog of services they're likely to need next, based on their own real project history.
Your Client Portal already gives past clients a place to check invoices and message you. The Service Catalog turns it into something more: a way to show them what else you can do for them, based on their own real project history — not a generic ad, a targeted offer.
How it works
You build the catalog. As an admin, you list the services or add-ons you want to offer — a name, description, a photo, and either a fixed price or "Request a Quote." You can target each item by Project Type and by how long it's been since a client's project closed — for example, offering a deck re-sealing service only to clients whose deck project finished 18–24 months ago.
Your clients see it, personalized. When a past client logs into their own portal, they see a catalog filtered to what's actually relevant to them — not every service you offer, just the ones that make sense given their own project history.
They act on it, right there. Fixed-price items get a "Buy Now" button — paid online, turned into a real project the moment payment clears. Quote-based items get a "Request" button that notifies your team the same way a warranty request does.
Where to set it up
Staff side: Sales and Marketing → Service Catalog — add items, set pricing, upload a photo, choose targeting.
Client side: it shows up automatically in the Client Portal for anyone who qualifies — no separate setup needed once an item is published.
Why this matters
Most competing client-portal products don't have anything like this — they're a passive place to check an invoice, nothing more. This turns your portal into an active channel for repeat business, using data you already have (real project history) that a generic portal tool never would.
