Requesting and approving time off, a leave calendar, and the leave-type/allotment setup behind it. Ships with a fixed yearly allotment ("Lump Sum") per leave type — an accrual-based option (hours build up over time) is planned but not yet available.
Ships with six defaults — Vacation, Sick, Personal, Bereavement, Jury Duty, Unpaid. Add your own, or edit the defaults, same as any other reference list.
Most leave types decrement the employee's granted balance when a request is approved. Bereavement and Jury Duty ship with this unchecked by default — many companies track those separately from PTO rather than charging them against it. Uncheck it for any leave type you want to treat the same way.
Open the Employee record → Leave Balances tab → Grant / Adjust (Administrators only). Set the hours granted for the current year, per leave type. Re-granting mid-year updates the total without touching hours already used.
Shows your own requests, filterable by status (All/Pending/Approved/Denied), plus a balance summary card per leave type at the top. New Request opens a dialog: leave type, start/end date, hours requested, an optional comment.
If your User account isn't linked to an Employee record (via Contact), this page shows a message instead of the form — ask an administrator to link it under Employees → Create Login (or set the Linked Contact directly).
Administrators see every pending request site-wide. Everyone else sees only requests from employees who report to them (their Employee record's own "Reports To"/Manager field) — the default approval scope for a direct manager or supervisor, no extra setup needed.
Approve is immediate and decrements the employee's balance (if that leave type counts against it). Deny opens a small dialog requiring a reason — the employee sees it on their own Leave Requests page, and the balance is left untouched.
Read-only, approved leave only — a team-wide Month/Week/Agenda view. Manage actual requests from Leave Approvals; this is purely for seeing who's out and when.
Currently locked to Lump Sum (a fixed number of hours granted per year, set manually per employee). Accrual (hours build up incrementally over time, with an optional cap before "use it or lose it" forfeiture applies) is shown but disabled — a planned follow-on, not yet built.
