Work Leads

A prospective contact who's shown interest but isn't a real deal yet — the top of the funnel, before it becomes an Opportunity.

Creating a Lead

1

Four fields required

First Name, Last Name, Main Phone, Main Email are required. The form has four panels: Lead (name, phone/email, company, website, job title, owner, Group), Address, Qualification (Lead Source, Lead Status, Lead Rating, Industry, Lost Reason, linked Campaign, Preferred Contact Method), and Tags (a checkbox tag list plus Annual Revenue/Employee Count).

2

More tabs after saving

Tasks, Notes, Communications, Custom Info, and Opportunities all unlock once the Lead is first saved.

Working the pipeline

1

Kanban view for status

Click Kanban View on the Leads list to see every Lead as a card, grouped into columns by Lead Status (New, Contacted, Qualified, Converted, Lost). Drag a card between columns to change its status — no need to open the record.

2

Turning a Lead into an Opportunity

There's no single "Convert" button. On the Lead's Opportunities tab, click New Opportunity — it opens the Opportunity form already linked back to this Lead. See the Opportunities guide for what happens from there.

Worth knowing: creating that Opportunity doesn't automatically flip the Lead's own Status to "Converted" — that's a separate, manual step if you want the Kanban board to reflect it.
