Your client's own window into their Project — view-mostly, with a few real self-service actions built in. Shares its login and layout with the Vendor Portal; this guide covers what's different for a client.
Open the client's Person record → Create Portal Access → enter their email. A "set your password" link gets emailed — the same mechanism used for Vendor Portal invites and staff logins.
Invoices, Payments, Documents, Photos, Schedule, To-Do's, Communications, Warranty. None of the vendor-only tabs (Quotes, Purchase Orders, Bills) ever appear for a client — only Communications is shared between the two roles.
Any Invoice marked Client Visible with a balance due shows a Pay Now button, which goes through a real Stripe Checkout session. Payment confirmation automatically records the payment and updates the Invoice's balance — nothing for staff to do afterward. The Payments tab is their own receipt history (View Receipt per payment).
The Documents tab shows Proposals — the accepted one in a highlighted card, others under "Other Proposals" — but a client can't accept or sign one in the Portal itself. Acceptance happens on the staff side.
This is the client-facing half of the Project Checklist feature (see the Checklists guide for the staff side). Only items marked Client Visible show up at all, and a client can only check off items specifically assigned to them — anything assigned to someone else on their team shows read-only with that person's name. The server double-checks this on every save, not just the button being greyed out in the UI.
Shows Description/Start/End/Status for whatever schedule items staff have chosen to share — "No schedule items shared yet" when nothing has been.
There's no generic "submit a service request" button in the Portal. What does exist: the Warranty tab has a real "Request warranty work" textarea + Submit button, which notifies staff immediately. Documents and Photos tabs both let a client upload their own files with a description. For anything else, the Warranty tab itself points them to Communications — reply on an existing thread to reach staff directly.
