Reports & Report Designer

Three separate report systems live in CM, each for a different job. This guide explains which one to reach for.

1

Reports — the fixed operational pack

Side menu → Reports. A fixed set of 10 built-in reports, modeled directly on the old ImproveBuild desktop app's "Remodeler's Business Solution" report pack. Pick one from the list, set its filters (date range, status, company/city — varies per report), and it renders on-screen for review or printing.

Accounts Receivable Details Company Contact List Completed Job w/ Open Invoices Employee Roster Jobs w/ Open Invoices Negative Balance Report Payments Posted by Date Payments Posted by Jurisdiction Payments Received by Lead Quote List
Worth knowing: these 10 are fixed and not editable — for anything outside this list, use Report Designer instead.
2

Print Reports — the 21 Estimate reports

From an Estimate's own Print Reports dialog (on the Estimates grid): 21 fixed, non-editable reports whose subtotal/variance math is hardcoded to guarantee correctness — things like cost breakdowns by category, client-facing proposals, and internal budgeting worksheets. Preview before saving, download as PDF or (for a couple of internal-use reports) Word.

3

Report Designer — build your own

Side menu → Report Designer. The tenant-facing home for Custom Reports — anything the 10 built-in Reports and 21 Estimate reports don't cover. Edit opens the same document editor used for every other template (see the Document Templates guide); Run generates it on demand as PDF or Word straight from this screen.

Rule of thumb: Reports (fixed, operational, no editing) → Print Reports on Estimates (fixed, Estimate-specific, guaranteed math) → Report Designer (anything else, fully custom, your own layout).
