Journal Entries & Chart of Accounts

Manual double-entry bookkeeping inside ClientManager, for adjustments and corrections that don't come from an Invoice or Bill.

Chart of Accounts

1

Set up your accounts first

Side menu → Financials → Chart of AccountsNew Account. Give it a Description, Account Number, and Type, and optionally nest it under a Parent Account for a simple one-level hierarchy.

Current Balance is a field you set, not a running total. It doesn't automatically update as Journal Entry lines post against the account — treat it as your account's opening/reference balance rather than a live number.

Journal Entries

2

Start an entry

Side menu → Financials → Journal EntriesNew Journal Entry. Set the Transaction Date, an optional Reference Number, and whether it's an Adjustment Entry, then save — the entry needs to exist before you can add its debit/credit lines.

3

Add debit/credit lines

Add Line for each account affected, entering either a Debit or a Credit (never both on the same line) plus a Memo. The panel keeps a running Total Debits / Total Credits and tells you whether the entry is balanced.

Balancing is shown, not enforced. You can save and leave an entry that says "Out of balance by $X" — nothing blocks it. Treat the indicator as a checklist item before you consider the entry final.
