Set the Document Header/Footer

Controls the header and footer that appear automatically on every generated document — proposals, invoices, and more — so individual templates never need to include their own logo or company info.

Read this before you start: reopening this page always starts from the default layout again — it does not reload your last saved version for further editing. Saving fully replaces whatever's currently live with exactly what's in the three boxes on screen at that moment. If you want to tweak an existing customization, you'll need to rebuild it (re-insert the tokens you want) rather than "open and edit" it.
1

Go to Site Settings → Document Header/Footer

Side menu → Site AdminSite Settings → the Document Header/Footer tab.

2

Understand the layout: three real positions, not one big editor

Both the Header and the Footer are split into Left / Center / Right boxes — each its own small rich-text editor. There's no need to click into "just the right spot" inside one large box; put content in whichever position box it belongs in.

Header Left
Default: your logo
Header Center
Default: blank
Header Right
Default: name/address/email/website
Footer Left
Default: blank
Footer Center
Default: "Name | Page X of Y"
Footer Right
Default: blank
3

Use the Insert buttons instead of typing values by hand

Each box has its own row of Insert buttons above it — clicking one drops in a live token pulled from your real Site Info, so it's never out of date. Available per box:

  • Header boxes: Logo, Name, Address, Email, Website
  • Footer boxes: Name, Page # (a live page-number token), Total Pages (a live total-page-count token)
4

Format with the compact toolbar

Each box has Bold/Italic/Underline/Font/Size/Color and Undo/Redo — deliberately trimmed down since these boxes are narrow (1/3-width columns); the full default toolbar would overflow or wrap awkwardly at this size.

5

Reset a section, or save

"Reload Default" under Header or Footer resets just that section back to the original built-in layout (logo+info for the header, centered name/page-count for the footer) — not your last save, the true original default.

Click Save when both sections look right. This is what goes out on every document from that point on.

Worth knowing: what you set up here is the site-wide content, shared by every document type. Whether a specific template includes it at all is a separate, per-template choice — see Design a Document Template for the Include Header/Include Footer toggles.
